Q&A: I want to start a small business. Can the library help?

Get your small business started with our help.

Dallas Public Library’s Business & Technology Division houses a small business collection of books covering all facets of starting a small business, covering such topics as researching a new business idea, creating a business plan, obtaining financing, setting up an office, and managing the business.  Do you have a particular interest in starting a “green” business? An event-planning business? Perhaps a pet-sitting business? Start-up guides in the collection provide guidance for starting and operating several specific businesses.  To further assist those interested in starting a small business, staff of the Library’s Urban Information Center and Business and Technology Division have compiled Starting a Small Business in Dallas, a Web-based Subject Guide of resources available in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of interest to anyone starting, funding or growing a small business.

The Business & Technology Division is located on the 5th floor of the downtown Dallas Public Library.
