At their Midwinter Meeting in Seattle this past weekend, the American Library Association announced the winners of the Stonewall Book Awards. On the Committee this year was Audelia Road Branch Manager Peter Coyl.
Recognized this year for “exceptional merit relating to the gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender experience” were the following titles:
The Last Nude by by Ellis Avery [Riverhead, ISBN 978-1594488139] was awarded the Barbara Gittings Literature Award
- For Colored Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Still Not Enough: Coming of Age, Coming Out, and Coming Home edited by Keith Boykin [Magnus Press, ISBN 978-1936833153] was awarded the Israel Fishman Non-Fiction Award
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz [Simon and Schuster, ISBN 978-1442408920] was awarded the Mike Morgan & Larry Romans Children’s & Young Adult Literature Award

announced, a complete list is available from ALA. All titles will be on display starting February 1 at the Audelia Road Branch as well as information about the committee and selection process.

- Thursday, February 7 from 7-8 pm at the Audelia Road Branch
