Volunteer Orientation

Help the community, make new friends, and gain workforce experience by volunteering at the library! Candidates must be at least 14 years old, attend orientation, and pass the background check before they are approved for service. Minors require parent signature on application. Come to orientation and get started!


Afterschool Science Club

Get Up & Go! Afterschool Program

Where: Arcadia Park Branch Library (in the Meeting Room A & B)

What does it mean to be healthy? The 8-week Get Up & Go program teaches children the basics of healthy nutrition, physical activity, goal setting and more in a fun, encouraging environment. Parents are welcome too! The program is made possible by Children's Health.


Library Live! Women's History Month

Black American Musical Traditions
Join master storyteller Melody Bell to learn about traditional clapping, partner, circle and ring games that were created by and used by women to teach children in the South over 100 years ago. Play energetic and imaginative games to discover how children learned the alphabet, numbers, motion, movement and following directions many, many years ago.


Computer Class for Adults: Microsoft Word

When: Monday, March 16, 2015 - 11:00 AM
Where: Arcadia Park Branch Library (in the In Library)

Learn to use Microsoft Word 2010 to write a resume, a letter, a book.... the possibilities abound! Topics include typing and formatting; tables; sending a file through email; shortcut keys and Spanish diacritics. Participants will have many opportunities for hands-on practice.
