Basic computer instruction on how to be successful with online Job Resources for getting the job you want. The class will cover such topics as Online Job applications, career planning, resumes and job searches, developing your work history, creating a great cover letter, setting up a job only email account, registering with online job boards, navigating Job-Now (Brainfuse), interviewing tips and more!


Seniors' Computer Basics Class

STORY TIME JUST-For-ME! (Offsite)

***This is an off-site fun story time for preschoolers ages 2-5 and their caregivers. It is held every 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Wednesday of the month. It is presented by the Martin Luther King Branch Library Children's Librarian at a local community daycare.

Summer Book Buddies

Ensure your child maintains reading skills this summer: Join Book Buddies! Each weekly session encourages your child to continue reading by playing games and pairing them with a trained reading volunteer. Sessions last from June 13th through August 4th. Register your child at a participating location. For students entering grades 2-5.


2016 Felony/Misd.-Friendly Pre- Career Fair Orientation

The TDCJ---Region II Partnership Council of Dallas proudly presents their 3rd Annual Felony and/or Misdemeanor Friendly Community Career Fair. The following conditions are *REQUIRED* to attend this Pre-Fair Orientation: *Must attend in 'professional attire' to receive private event location via email. *Must bring a valid picture ID to the orientation. *Must bring 1 page typed resume which lists your email address. *Must bring proof of your being "touched" by the criminal justice system (official paperwork). *Event is for criminal background job seekers only: case managers, employment specialists, etc. will MOT be admitted. *Pre-Career Fair Orientation dates/times: 7/1, 7/22, 8/12, 8/26, 9/2. Art Bots for Tweens & Teens

Do you like to draw? What if you could build a robot that would create art for you? In this program, you will create an Art Bot with markers for legs that will create drawings as it moves across the paper. If you've ever been interested in building a robot, Art Bots are a great place to start experimenting. Sponsored by The Dallas Foundation


"Mobile Diary Classroom" by Southwest Diary Farmers

When: Tuesday, July 05, 2016 - 11:00 AM
Where: Martin Luther King, Jr. Branch Library (in the Outside)

Mobile Dairy Classroom is a traveling milking parlor, featuring a live cow and an oral presentation. Trained instructors will demonstrate how to milk a cow, describe how milk goes from the farm to the consumer, and then answer questions from the audience.
