"Fun with LED Lights and Dough Creatures"

Where: Martin Luther King, Jr. Branch Library (in the Lisa Kilolo Todd Auditorium)

This is the last of four fun STEAM science programs that the Mayor's Summer Reading Club is presenting this summer at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Branch Library. Participants will use play dough and LED lights to demonstrate how to make an electrical circuit. Everyone will have an airbag to inflate and take home. The programs are all sponsored by the DALLAS FOUNDATION.

Enjoy a fun story time with the Martin Luther King Branch Library Children's Librarian. This is a story time at the neighborhood daycare for preschoolers ages 2-5.


FREE Reading Tutorials

Where: Martin Luther King, Jr. Branch Library (in the Conference Room)

FREE Tutoring IN READING! Reading Specialist and Library Associate Kathy Barnes will be offering free sessions to help children ages 6 to 15 years old with their reading. Students will receive personal attention and choice of reading materials. Summer is a great time to assist your child with maintaining and/or improving their reading skills. Classes will be offered twice weekly on TUESDAYS, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and again on SATURDAYS, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. As an added bonus: Children can earn reading "minutes" for rewards from The Mayor's Summer Reading Club.
