The Proactive Approach with Lupe Ozuna

Are you unemployed or under-employed? Meet with Mr. Lupe Ozuna, local community leader and business management professional to learn some tips and techniques for advancing and bettering your career. General session will begin June 3rd, with specific topics and dates to come.

"What's my boss trying to say?" Learn the language of management and how it applies to upward mobility.

"What am I missing?" Learn practical career skills to move up and on.

"How do I get noticed in the workplace? What can I do to advance myself, and make my job a career?"

"I deserve a fair chance!" How to prepare yourself for the next promotion opportunity that comes your way.

"I've got an interview! Now what?" Learn the necessary skills to nail your job opportunity and impress your future employer.

"I have an uncomfortable issue/relationship with my co-worker/boss? How can I combat this?" Learn how to effectively communicate with everyone you work with.


"When in the workplace, how can I compete?" Learn the language that managers speak.

Registration will be first-come, first-serve basis. Max capacity of 15 attendees.

MSRC Kick Off Party - Meet Frozen's Princess Elsa!

Our favorite princess, Frozen's Elsa, will be joining us for an morning of interactive kids' entertainment. Food, drinks, crafts, and more will be part of the fun at the Mayor's Summer Reading Club's Kick-Off Celebrations Saturday, June 6 at the North Oak Cliff Branch Library.


Everyday Princess: Hair Braiding Class

When: Monday, June 08, 2015 - 11:00 AM
Where: North Oak Cliff Branch Library (in the Auditorium)

Learn how to braid hair! Start with French and Dutch braids and work your way to Fishtails, Lace and Waterfall styles. For ages 12 and up. Bring your own combs and brushes and we will provide rubber bands and bobby pins.
