Oak Cliff Earth Day Art Contest - Create a Flower!

When: Wednesday, January 20, 2016 - Friday, March 25, 2016
Where: North Oak Cliff Branch Library

Draw, paint, or color your masterpiece and you may win BIG!

Official Rules:

-Must be a student living in Dallas.
-Only one (1) entry per student.
-Entries must be received by 6:00 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2016 at any Dallas Public Library.
-Entry MUST be attached to a completed flyer; click on Contest Entry Form link below. Front side of form must display complete student name, age, contact phone number, and parent's signature
-Work may be in ANY MEDIUM (pencil, crayon, acrylic paint, collage, etc.) the artist chooses and will be judged on the artist's interpretation of the theme.
-Prizes will be awarded Sunday, April 10 at the Oak Cliff Earth Day Celebration at Lake Cliff Park.


AARP Tax-Aide

When: Tuesday, February 16, 2016 - 11:00 AM
Where: North Oak Cliff Branch Library (in the Auditorium)

Dallas Public Library will partner with AARP Tax-Aide to offer free, in-person tax assistance through trained volunteers. Assistance is geared toward people with low-to-moderate income, persons with disabilities, the elderly and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. People interested in receiving assistance should bring W-2's, last year's tax return, Social Security cards for all dependents, and photo I.D. Space is limited. Library Live! Chinese New Year

Bringing in the New Year

Become the dragon at the center of the dragon dance with master theater artist Dana Proulx-Willis. You'll learn about Chinese New Year traditions and the intricacies of the dragon dance, and you'll create your own movements as a dragon dancer.
