Dallas Children's Theatre Drama Workshop

This is a free workshop for children. DCT's summer production will be "The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley " based on the book by Jeff Brown - so that will be the theme of our workshops.


Horses at the Library

Equest Therapy Horses will be visiting the library. Kids will have a chance to pet the miniature horses, and learn how to take care of them.


Volunteer Orientation

If you are 14 or older and interested in becoming a Dallas Public Library volunteer, please attend this orientation session to learn more about our opportunities and fill out an application.
All court ordered community service volunteers must call The Volunteer Center of North Texas at 214-821-8711 ext.410 to register for and complete orientation before volunteering for the Dallas Public Library.



Hispanic Families Network

The Hispanic Families Network's mission is to provide training (in Spanish) to parents on how to use technology and social media to find information about early childhood education and literacy and share that information with their community.

La misión de la Red de Familias Hispanas es proporcionar capacitación (en Español) a padres sobre cómo utilizar la tecnología y las redes sociales para encontrar información acerca de la educación preescolar y la alfabetización y compartir la información con su comunidad.

Chess and Other Games

Go Van Gogh: Splashes of color

Explore the creative and active works by Japanese artists Kazuo Shiraga and Sadamass Motonaga before releasing your own inner artist with experimental artwork. This program is provided by the Dallas Museum of Art.


Power of Air

When: Wednesday, July 15, 2015 - 1:00 PM
Where: Pleasant Grove Branch Library (in the Blackbox Theater)

Explore the properties of air and the Bernoulli effect. Students will learn how to inflate an airbag with just one breath of air, and experiment with the solarbag, which rises as the sun heats the air molecules inside. Everyone will have an airbag to inflate and take home. Sponsored by the Dallas Foundation.
