Tai Chi Rhythms

Learn to move with effortless grace from the inside out as you soften you muscles, lubricate your joints, and increase your center of balance. Tai Chi is a martial art of dynamic relaxation and full body awareness. Tai Chi literally means, "The Grand Ultimate" and is an art of receiving and redirecting energy mentally, physically and spiritually. In this series of classes, open to all levels, we will use movement, breathing and visualization exercises to relax the body, increase feeling awareness, and sharpen mental focus. Learn the basic principles of qi gong, the mother of all tai chi, and discover the power of effortless grace in games of leverage, balance, and concentration. Hosted by second generation circus performer SaTek Ananda.

White Rock Hills Anime Club

Teens ages 13-18 are invited to join us every 3rd Tuesday of the month for an afterschool program to have group viewings of classic works in anime, samplings of new and old releases, and movie nights featuring pieces by directors Hayao Miyazaki, Mamoru Hosada and Mahiro Maeda. Library Live! Asian History Month

Join master illustrator Jennifer Kindert for the beautiful story of Pele, Hawaii's volcano goddess and the goddess of fire. The legend says that Pele traveled from Tahiti to Hawaii and was followed from island to island accompanied by her shark brother and chased by her ocean sister.
