Central Library: Meeting Rooms

Planning a Meeting? The J. Erik Jonsson Central Library can accommodate groups large and small. A wide range of facilities is available for public use at the Central Library. The spaces can accommodate a variety of activities, from large events to small, informal meetings.

The Central Library has rooms that accommodate 5 to 300 including room for small conferences or symposiums. Basic audio/visual equipment is available for rental. Spaces are available anytime the library is open. For pricing and availability of rooms, please contact our Meeting Room Coordinator at 214-670-7850.

If you are interested in renting a space, please be sure to . . .

  • Give us ample time to process the application (30 days is recommended for first time users.
  • Complete all applicable information on the rental application
  • Provide proof of nonprofit status, if applicable.
    - IRS 501(c)3 form
    - Bylaws
  • Provide an insurance certificate . . .
    - For all for profit organizations
    - Nonprofit organizations, if event is open to the general public

    Location: 5th Floor
    Seats: 54, Classroom seating
    Room features:
      - Videoconferencing equipment including PC, document camera, DVD/VHS
      - Plasma screen televisions
      - Projector and 133-inch screen
      - 3 wireless laptop Internet connection access points
      - Videoconferencing microphones on each table

    Location: 1st Floor, Concourse Area
    Seats: 179, Auditorium seating

  • Dallas East/West Rooms (Room can be used as 1 larger meeting space or smaller rooms)
    Location: 1st Floor, Concourse Area
     
  • Dallas East/West Rooms combined
    Seating: 75 people, conference or classroom seating; up to 90 people, audience seating
    Room Features:
      - Small kitchenette available, accessible through East Room
      - Projection walls
     
  • Dallas East Room/West Room separately
    Location: 1st Floor, Concourse Area
    Seating: Up to 25 people conference or classroom seating; up to 45 people, audience seating
    Room features:
      - Small kitchenette
      - Projection wall
     

  • Studio & Salon
    Location: 3rd Floor
    Seating: Classroom seating up to 45 persons; audience seating up to 65 persons
    Room features:
      - Smart Board
      - Salon
        + Can serve as small reception room or green room and is included with the Studio rental
        + Seats 6 in Lounge seating

Branch Libraries

Each of the branch libraries has meeting spaces. Some have auditoriums and the Hampton Illinois, Lochwood and Bachman Lake branches have also a black box theater space. For information on these facilities, please contact the Branch Library directly. A map of the system is online here.
