Tristan Tzara. Parler Seul: Poéme. Paris: Maeght Editeur, 1950.

Gift of the Leland Fikes Foundation and the Friends of the Dallas Public Library, Inc.

This outstanding example of a surrealist book contains poems composed by Tristan Tzara while he was being treated for mental illness. Juan Miro’s brightly colored lithographs are fantastic creations from the dream world of the Freudian subconscious, carefully placed on the page. Miro also designed the cover collage and slipcase, and both the artist and author signed the book.
