A Night Out @ Central! is an exciting weekly series of eclectic and engaging programs for the public. Held every Thursday from 6:30-7:30 pm on the first floor of the Central Library in downtown Dallas, the series offers a wide variety of free, fun, and educational programs.

  • A Night Out @ Central Presents: Smart Woman's Guide to Heart Health

    Dallas Public Library invites you to an evening with noted author Dr. Sarah Samaan. Named as one of "America’s Top Physicians" by Consumers' Research Council of America as well as a "Texas Super Doctor" by Texas Monthly magazine, Dr. Samaan will discuss seven simple steps to a healthy heart and a whole-health approach to preventing heart disease.


  • A Night Out @ Central Presents: A History of White Rock Lake!

    Did you know White Rock Lake was used as a POW camp for German officers during WWII? Or that it was created by damming White Rock Creek in 1909? Come and meet Sally Rodriguez, author of the book "White Rock Lake," as she delves into the history of this urban oasis enjoyed by 2 million visitors every year.

    Hostelling International presents "Travel My Globe," a glimpse into travelling the world, meeting new friends and mixing with different cultures. Come and find out what a hostel stay is like, pick up travel tips, and be entertained by stories of travelling on a budget. The program is presented by Howsen Kwan.
