Library services: Public Access Computer Software

The public computers at all Dallas Public Libraries have basic productivity applications installed for patron use. The minimum installed on all public access computers includes:

  • Internet Explorer (version 7)
  • Microsoft Office Excel (2003)
  • Microsoft Office PowerPoint (2003)
  • Microsoft Office Publisher (2003)
  • Microsoft Office Word (2003)
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader (version 9.2)

Note that the above is the minimum that should be installed on all computers. Some libraries and units of the Central Library may have additional software installed on designated research computers to address specific research needs of the patrons they serve.
