Scope and Contents
The Herzog Family Collection consists of materials kept by Ed and Jewel Herzog from the 1920s to the 1950s. The first series includes Junior Chamber of Commerce materials. Both Ed and Jewel took an active part in Jay Cee activities, with Ed being named president of the group in 1932. Jewel Herzog participated in the Jay Cee Wives Club. Materials include programming information, yearbooks and a copy of the Dallas Greeter.
The next three series are insurance information, receipts and accounts and taxation records. The Herzogs' kept their life insurance policy premium receipts from a variety of insurance companies. These premium receipts are organized alphabetically by company. Also in the collection are selections of receipts from Dallas companies during 1948-1950 that Jewel Herzog kept. These records are alphabetized by company. The Herzogs also kept their city and county taxation receipts.
