PECK, BOBBY, SCRAPBOOK

1928 - 1950; majority of the materials date to approximately 1936. Ms. Peck, holder of the title Miss Dallas 1928, later operated both Club Midnight and Midnight Frolics. The scrapbook includes news clippings, photographs, and a poster covering the events and goings on of both nightclubs as well as her trial in 1936 for selling mixed drinks without a license.

PEOPLES, CLINT, COLLECTION

1930s - 1989. Peoples (1910 - 1992) was a Texas sheriff, Ranger, and a U.S. Marshal. Peoples was a career law enforcement officer, and the collection covers Peoples' career, the day-to-day operations of the Texas Rangers, and the establishment of the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame in Waco, Texas. Correspondence, newspaper clippings, photographs (copies of some 19th- century Ranger photographs), certificates, lecture notes, and case reports.

PICARD HOME COLLECTION

1926-2002
Owners Steven and Gail Picard donated the collection in 2004 after discovering the materials in the house. This collection provides a good record of the ownership and financial history of the house at 5610 Swiss Avenue, particularly while it was owned by George and Annie Sprau. The collection also contains about twenty photos of the house before it was renovated in the mid-1970s.

PRINGLE, JAMES, COLLECTION

James Pringle worked for the Dallas Civic Theatre for many years in several different capacities. He worked very closely with Margo Jones and was instrumental in much of the success her theater attained. The collection includes photos and correspondence with Margo Jones. It also contains other materials of hers, including glass turtles, a cigarette holder and rehearsal slippers.

1944 - 2008. Collection consists of scrapbooks containing newspaper clippings, photographs, and club programs documenting the history of the club as well as the guests it has attracted to speak at meetings. Although the scrapbooks were begun in 1944, some materials cover earlier years. The club was founded in 1932.
